We have developed an
adhesive product that can used to connect hollow spectra
with monofilament or fluorocarbon. Many hard core salt
water anglers use spectra as a backing on their reels.
This method gives reels twice the capacity over standard
extruded lines. Swifty Manufacturing began working
with a technologically advanced
adhesive company to develop an adhesive system
specifically engineered for the hollow spectra -
monofilament connection. This adhesive has addressed the
issue of attaching the hollow spectra to the
fluorocarbon or monofilament without compromising the
breaking strength of the leader. The adhesive also has
been designed to adhere to the spectra main line without
reducing it’s breaking strength and remains flexible to
pass through the guides on the rod. This adhesive is
easy to use. This adhesive has a long shelf life
assuring use over multiple
seasons.
